چکیده

The triply periodic minimal surface design (TPMS, Schwarz Primitive) is utilized to numerically investigate lattices with sandwich cell walls of constant macroscopic density. construction the involves a polymer (core material) and ceramic material (skin). (alumina) weight fraction in varied such that for each density range fractions from 0%wt (monolithic polymer) 100%wt alumina lattice) under investigation terms Young’s modulus, peak stress specific energy absorption. It found absorption TPMS higher compared monolithic or equal (42 kg m?3) 40%wt lattice providing highest At densities, optimal obtained 10% 80%wt lattices. Selected 10%, 30% are fabricated via two-photon lithography atomic layer deposition tested situ uniaxial compression. Utilizing results this study, maps constructed provide guidelines fulfilling application-related requirements.

Energy dissipation mechanisms in hollow metallic microlattices

When properly designed at ultra-low density, hollow metallic microlattices can fully recover from compressive strains in excess of 50%, while dissipating a considerable portion of the elastic strain energy. This article investigates the physical mechanisms responsible for energy loss upon compressive cycling, and attributes the most significant contribution to a unique form of structural dampin...

Energy Absorption of Nano-Reinforced and Sandwich Composites in Ballistic and Low-Velocity Punch-Shear

This paper presents an investigation on energy absorption characteristics of nano-reinforced panels, laminated face sheets and sandwich composites in high velocity ballistic and low velocity punch-shear experiments. The vinyl ester panels were reinforced with 1.25 and 2.5 wt. percent nanoclay and exfoliated graphite platelets. Three different face sheets were manufactured with E-glass, Owens Co...

Experimental investigation of energy-absorption characteristics of components of sandwich structures

Two series of experiments are performed to investigate the dynamic response of various essential components of a class of sandwich structures, under high-rate inertial loads. One consists of dynamic inertia tests and the other involves dynamic impact tests. A split Hopkinson bar apparatus is modified and used for these experiments. First, the energy-absorbing characteristics of the plate materi...

Development of mature BDNF-specific sandwich ELISA.

Mature brain-derived neurotrophic factor (mBDNF) plays a vital role in the nervous system, whereas proBDNF elicits neurodegeneration and neuronal apoptosis. Although current enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has been widely used to measure BDNF levels, it cannot differentiate mBDNF from proBDNF. As the function of proBDNF differs from mBDNF, it is necessary to establish an ELISA assay s...
